Cryptokoin – The sixth crypto currency conference, hosted by Europol, the law enforcement agency of the European Union, was attended by over 300 crypto experts and private sector representatives. The news was announced in a Europol press release on June 14th.
The conference, organized by Europol's European Cybercrime Center (EC3), was held on 12-14 June at Europol's headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. Allegedly the conference held in the crypto-wide conference is a conference that discusses the most extensive legal practices.
According to the press release, the conference focuses on opportunities to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement and the private sector in order to better detect, detect and rescue assets from an effective crime in the crypto currency.
The participating experts reported that they share research experiences and techniques to combat phishing, fund theft and distributed service seizure.
There is also a crypto currency monitoring game developed in cooperation with Europol, CENTRIC (Center of Excellence in Terrorism, Resistance, Intelligence and Organized Crime Research).
The game, which will be launched at the Europol-INTERPOL Cybercrime Conference in October, is alleged to offer authorities the opportunity to first time playful law enforcement training to gain hands-on guidance to demonstrate the monitoring of crypto currencies in the context of criminal investigation.
Among the private sector participants are wallet providers, clearing and payment processors. Some of the main names listed in the press release are Binance, BitPay, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Coinbase, Ledger, OKCoin, Shapeshift, LocalBitcoins and Tether.
The conference focuses on legally legitimate applications of blokchain technology, including crypto-trading, investments and payments, as well as focusing on crypto-funded crime.
As stated in the press release, Europol’s latest crypto conference provides participants with block-chain certified certificates to demonstrate the benefits of technology.
As recently reported – shortly after Europol took over Bestimixer.io, the crypto hybrid service Bitcoin Blender voluntarily closed itself. Following the news, this increased the likelihood that Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin would create an Ethereum hybrid based on an in-chain smart contract.
